Anyway you look at Zack Snyder's film offer something new. At times is very Freudian, the flick presents a world of dreams even worse than the reality itself, just to say, that sometimes dreams are worse than the reality. The all-female film with Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish and Jena Malone, offers many ideas for interpretation, but one thing is sure, at the end of the movie the question remains, what the hall I just watched?

Zack Snyder has already shown with 300 that he will spend to the last cent in graphic effects and visual art, unfortunately this time he used too  much for too little. The result is a film that I didn’t love but I appreciate (especially for the seminude actresses, the only positive note). A film that uses special effects and sound every second of film, but without any meaning. So the story is flat, the end is flat, moral of the story ... 0. Too little for a film from which I expected much more.

For the men will be a pleasure, it seems more like' a game of the lingerie League instead of a movie.

Comunque lo si guardi il film di Zack Snyder offre qualcosa di nuovo. A tratti molto freudiano, il film ci presenta un mondo dei sogni ancora peggiore della realta' stessa. Tanto per dire, che a volte i sogni sono peggio della realta'. Il film tutto al femminile con Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish e Jena Malone, offre vari spunti di interpretazione, ma una cosa e' sicura, la pellicola lascia l'amaro in bocca.

Zack Snyder ha dimostrato gia con 300 e di spendere un sacco di dollari in effetti grafici, purtroppo per lui questa volta ha usato troppo per offrire troppo poco. Il risultato e cosi un film che non ho amato ma aprezzato (sopratutto per le attrici semi nude, unica nota positiva). Un film che usa effetti sonori e violenza a 360° ma senza alcun significato. Cosi che la storia risulta piatta, il finale risulta piatto, morale della favola 0... troppo poco per un film da cui si aspettava molto.

Per il sesso maschile sara' una goduria, infatti sembra piu' una partita della lingerie legue che un film.

Battle: Los Angeles – Alleluia the Marines are here

Well is always a good thing to have the Marines around, otherwise we would be F@#ked up.

Battle: Los Angeles looks more like a war  documentary in Kabul or Baghdad, than a flick about aliens. Even better, is more like an advertising to enlist in the army. Propaganda for the Marine Corps.

However,  Liebesman  movie  (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) has something that is  real, most likely if the aliens arrived and were hostile, there would be a scenario similar to that presented in the film. But in the end a civilization that's technologically superior to ours, is defeated by a Marine Corp?!? Leaves me some doubts.

The film has a nice CGI, is filmed very well (although I hate the non-use of Stedy-cam), the actors are the right ones and the result is, about  two hours of pure action.

Certainly the film is less impressive then Skyline for special effects and photography, but it's much better in terms of quality of filming, script, actors, director ... But there is a small difference between the two flicks: 90million dollar. 

So if you like action movies, Battle: LA is a must see.

Meno male che ci sono i Marines perche' se no, eravamo belli che fritti.

Battle: Los Angeles sembra piu' un documentario della guerra a Kabul o Bagdad che un film sugli alieni, anzi meglio, sembra un film pubblicita' per arruolarsi nel esercito. Propaganda per il corpo dei Marines.

Tuttavia il film di Libesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) ha un non so che di reale, molto probabilmente se gli alieni arrivassero e fossero ostili, vi sarebbe uno scenario simile a quello presentato nella pellicola. Pero' che alla fine una civilta' aliena tecnologicamente superiore alla nostra, venga sconfitta da un corpo dei Marines mi lascia qualche dubbio.

Il film ha un ottima rifinitura CGI, e' filmato bene (anche se mi da sempre piu' fastitio il non utilizzo della stedy-cam), gli attori sono quelli giusti ed il risultato e circa due ore di azione allo stato puro.

Sicuramente il film per quanto riguarda gli effetti speciali e fotografia e' inferiore a Skyline, ma e' nettamente superiore nella  qualita' di realizzazione, sceneggiatura, attori, regia... bisogna pero' notare che ci sono 90 milioni di dollari di differenza tra i due film.

Quindi se vi piacciono i film d'azione, Battle: LA e' un must see.

Another Hollywood remake, this time an action movie of 1972 with Charles Bronson, The Mechanic. The remake this time is starring Jason Statham and Ben Foster and is directed by Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider). The film is the story of the perfect hit man, silent, without conscience, without morality and his drifted apprentice.
The flick is a old-fashioned action movie, no romance or moral teaching, just go and' kill for the entire duration of the movie. Admittedly, the mere fact that the action can keep the pace up for two hours, without intrinsic stories is worth the money of the ticket. However you want to put this movie it does not present anything new, because it recalls the previous Statham series The Transporter, and it’s for this reason that throughout the film you have the feeling of having it already seen. The story itself has many gaps, and there are parts of the story that are left to chance, as if they want to make the viewer choose why this or that happened.

The Mechanic is still a movie to watch, just for the simple fact that is an action pumped with steroid. But do not expect more.

Altro remake per Hollywood, questa volta un film d’azione del 1972 con Charles Bronson, The Mechanic. Il riadattamento e’ interpretato da Jason Statham e Ben Foster, per la regia di Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider). Il film tratta la storia del perfetto assasino, silenzioso, senza coscienza, senza morale e del suo apprendista un po sbandato.

Il film e’ un classico action movie alla vecchia maniera, niente storie d’amore o maralismi, un semplice vai e’ uccidi e per tutta la durata del film. Bisogna ammetterlo, il solo fatto che riesca a tenere il ritmo dell’azione alto per ben due ore, senza storie intrinseche, vale i soldi del biglietto. Pero’ comunque la si voglia mettere il film non presenta nulla di nuovo, perche’ ricorda moltissimo la serie The Transporter, ed e’ per questo motivo che per tutto il film si ha la sensazione di averlo gia visto. Anche la storia di per se ha molte lacune, infatti ci sono parti della storia che vengono un po lasciate al caso, come se si volesse far scegliere allo spettatore perche’ e’ successo questo o quello.

The Mechanic rimane comunque un film da vedere, se non altro per il semplice fatto che pompato di steroidi per l’azione. Ma non aspettatevi altro.

Še en remake Hollywooda, tokrat akcijski film iz leta 1972 s Charles Bronsonom, The Mechanic. Remake ima tokrat v glavnih vlogah Jasona Stathama in Ben Fosterja film pa je režiral Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider). Film je zgodba o popolnemu morilcu, tihi, brez vesti, brez morale in njegovega malo raztresenega vajeneca.
Celovečerec je tipičen staromodni akcijski film, nima nobene romantične zgodbe ali morale, samo pojdi in ubiji za celotno trajanje filma. Zgolj dejstvo, da lahko drži tak tempo dve uri, brez drugih zgodb je vreden denarja vstopnice. Vendar pa kakor jo obrenmo The Mechanic ne predstavlja nič novega, saj spominja na prejšnje vloge Jasona Stathama kot naprimer Transporter, in zaradi tega se skozi celoten film ima občutek kot da si film že videl oziroma da je nekakšno nadaljevanje. Zgodba sama ima nekaj pomanjklivosti, ki so prepuščeno naključju, kot da so želeli da bi gledalec se odločil zakaj se je kaj zgodilo.

The Mechanic je še vedno film vreden ogleda, že zaradi preprostega dejstva da je to akcijski film napumpan z steroidi. Toda ne pričakujte več.

THE GREEN HORNET

Review

They could certainly do more because The Green Hornet has left me with a bitter taste. For one simple reason, the film at times is confused, like when you try to give as much information in a short time and in the end no one understands anything. The series of the 60s, with Bruce Lee was one year long and had 26 episodes. The flick is trying to summarize 26 episodes in 2 hours, and that's why the result was such a mess. The action-crime movies should have a simple story with lots of shootouts, car chases, beating and not a low level moralizing story. 'Cause this is in The Green Hornet, the film wants us to understand that we have to do something with our life, that's not all parties and women, but there are also more important things in life. Maybe if the script was written more seriously

because, the result is a comedy with lots of explosions. All in all, the film is not bad as it seems, and is worth an evening at the cinema.

THE GREEN HORNET

Trama

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) è il figlio del magnate più importanti e rispettato di Los Angeles ed  e' perfettamente felice di mantenere una vita senza ambizione alcuna se non quella della bella vita - fino a quando suo padre (Tom Wilkinson) muore misteriosamente, lasciando a Britt il suo vasto impero mediatico. Stinge una strana amicizia con uno dei dipendenti del padre, Kato (Jay Chou), vedendo la loro possibilità di fare qualcosa di significativo per la prima volta nella loro vita: combattere il crimine. Ma per fare questo, decidono di diventare loro stessi criminali – giustizia si ma trasgredendo la legge, Britt diventa il vigilante The Green Hornet e con Kato ˝ripuliscono˝ le strade.

Usando tutta la sua ingegnosità e abilità, Kato costruisce il massimo in termini di armamenti retrò avanzati, The Black Beauty, un indistruttibile auto con una potenza di fuoco mai vista e tanti cavalli sotto il cofano. Guidano cosi una fortezza mobile colpiscono i cattivi con i gadget intelligenti di Kato, The Green Hornet e Kato si fanno subito un nome, e con l'aiuto del nuovo segretario di Britt, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), iniziano la caccia all'uomo che controlla la malavita di Los Angeles: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). Ma Chudnofsky ha i suoi di piani: schiacciare The Green Hornet una volta per tutte.

Si poteva fare sicuramente di piu', perche' The Green Hornet mi ha lasciato un po con l'amaro in bocca. Per un semplice motivo, il film a tratti e' confuso, come quando si cerca di dare tante informazioni in poco tempo, alla fine no si capisce piu' niente. La serie degli anni '60, con Bruce Lee, e' durata un anno ed ha avuto 26 episodi. Il film credo abbia cercato di riassumere 26 episodi in 2 ore, ed ecco perche' e' risultato complicato. Gli action-crime movies dovrebbero avere una storia semplice, con tante sparatorie, inseguimenti tra macchine, pestaggi e non moralismi di basso livello. Perche' di questo si tratta in The Green Hornet, il film ci vuol far capire che bisogna far qualcosa della propria vita, che non ci sono solo feste e donne, ma anche cose piu' serie. Forse se la sceneggiatura fosse scritta piu' seriamente, perche' il risultato e' una commedia con tante esplosioni. Tutto sommato la pellicola non e' male e per passare la serata va bene.

Zgodba
Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) je sin najbolj uglednega in spoštovanega magnata LA medijev in je popolnoma srečen da živi svoje življenje brez skrbi - dokler njegov oče (Tom Wilkinson) skrivnostno umre, ter zapusti Brittu ves njegov obsežen medijski imperiji. Presenetljivo nastane malo verjetno prijateljstvo z enim od očetovih zaposlenih, Kato (Jay Chou), skupaj najdeta priložnost da naredita prvič nekaj pomembnega v svojem življenju: boj proti kriminalu. Toda da bi to naredili, se odločijo, da postanejo kriminalci sami - varovanje zakona tako da kršijo, Britt postane Green Hornet, in skupaj z Katom postaneta kaj hitro pravi hit ulic.

Kato uporabi vso svojo iznajdlivosti in spretnost ter zgradi vrhunsko retro-napredno orožje, Black Beauty, neuničljiv avtomobil z veliko ognjeno močjo ter veliko konjskih moči. Z svojo mobilno trdnjavo pričneta lov nad lopovi, in z pripomočki ki jih naredi Kato, The Green Hornet in Kato hitro zaslovita seveda je tukaj tudi pomoč Britt nove sekretarke je, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz). Tako se začne lov na človeka ki nadzoruje podzemlje LA: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). Toda Chudnofsky ima svoje načrte: končati z Green Hornetom enkrat za vselej.

Review
Lahko bi zagotovo naredili kaj več, saj me je Green Hornet zapustil z grenkim priokusom. Z enega preprostega razloga, film je na trenutke zmeden, kakor ko se poskuša dati čim več informacij v čim krašem času, tako na koncu nihče ne razume ničesar. Serija iz 60-ih let, z Bruce Leejem je bila dolga eno leto in je imela 26 epizod, filma poskuša povzeti 26 epizod v 2 urah, in zato je bil rezultat tak nered. Action-crime filmi bi morali imeti preprosto zgodbo z veliko streljanja, avtomobilski pregoni, pretepanja, ne pa neko preprosto moraliziranje. Green Hornet nam poskuša povedati da moramo nekaj narediti s svojim življenjem, da ni vse v ženskah ter zabavah, ampak da obstajajo tudi bolj pomembne stvari v življenju. Mogoče če bi scenarij bil napisan bolj resno bi bilo bolje ker je rezultat komedija z veliko eksplozij. Konec koncev pa film ni slab kakor bi lahko zgledalo, in je vreden večera v kinu.

L.A. UNDER ATTACK!

In questi giorni e' uscito Skyline dei fratelli Strause e le prime critiche non sono incoraggianti (il film non l'ho ancora visto, sara' fatto in questi giorni). Comunque una delle maggiori critiche e la mancanza di un attore di livello, i dialoghi scontati, la storia in generale. Cio non toglie che gia' dal trailer si e' capito che gli effetti speciali sono fantastici, pero' sembra che finisca tutto qui. Bisogna pero notare che il film ha avuto a disposizione un budget limitato, circa 10.000.000$, e che quindi non hanno potuto fare un colossal. Pero' il film diretto da Danny Boyle 28 Days Later e' costato ancora meno, circa 8.000.000 $, ed e' comunque uno dei film piu' aprezzati dell'ultimo decennio.


E adesso arriva il bello.
A marzo 2011 uscira' nelle sale cinematografiche World Invasion: Battle LA, Action - SCI-Fi pellicola diretta da Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). Il film tratta piu' o meno la stessa storia di Skyline, ovvero l'arrivo degli UFO sulla Terra e la battaglia che ne consegue. A differenza di Skyline pero', il film ha un budget cospicuo, 100.000.000 $, ed un' cast ben piu' conosciuto tra i quali sono accreditati Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight – Duefaccie), Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar, SWAT, Resident Evil), Ramon Rodriguez (Transformers, Pelham 123) e il cantante R&B NE-YO. La cosa interessante e' che anche questo film a come teatro della battaglia tra gli umani e gli aleni Los Angeles, proprio come Skyline.

These days were release the Strause brothers Skyline and the early critics are not encouraging (film that I have not seen yet, I will in those days). However one of the major criticisms is the lack of an star actor, dialogues are predictable, the movie plot in general. But there is also a positive side of the story, already in the movie trailer we understood that the special effects are fantastic, but' it seems that everything ends up here. We must note, however, that for the film was available just a limited budget, approximately $ 10,000,000, and therefore could not make a blockbuster. But a movie directed by Danny Boyle 28 Days Later coasted even less, about $ 8,000,000, and it 'still it has become a blockbuster and one of the most appreciated movie the last decade.

The film is more 'or less the same story of Skyline, or the arrival of UFOs on Earth, and the battle that ensues. Unlike Skyline, the film has a substantial budget, $ 100,000,000, and a cast far more known, among them are credited Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight - DubleFace), Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar, SWAT, Resident Evil), Ramon Rodriguez (Transformers, Pelham 123), and R & B singer NE-YO. The interesting thing is that this film the theater of battle between humans and aliens is Los Angeles, just like Skyline.
