Funnyman Seth Rogen was left stunned by a recent encounter with his moviemaking hero George Lucas - because the Star Wars director spent 20 minutes telling him the world would end in 2012. Rogen was left speechless when Lucas and Steven Spielberg joined a movie meeting he was a part of - but the encounter has left him worried his life will be over next year.
He recalls, “George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the year 2012, like, for real. He thinks it.
“He’s going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, ’My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry...’'
“I first thought he (Lucas) was joking... and then I totally realized he was serious and then I started thinking, ’If you’re George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a year, there’s no way you haven’t built a spaceship for yourself... So I asked him... ’Can I have a seat on it?’
“He claimed he didn’t have a spaceship, but there’s no doubt there’s a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go... It’s gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I’ll be blown up like the rest of us.”

Seth Rogen seduto fra George Lucas e Steven Spielberg per parlare del progetto di un nuovo film. L’incontro è divertente, i tre ridono e scherzano come vecchi amici, almeno fino a quando Lucas non cambia argomento e comincia a parlare della fine del mondo. Che per lui arriverà nel 2012. Una tirata di quasi 25 minuti, fra placche tettoniche che si stanno muovendo e roba simile. Primo pensiero di Rogen (che, però, tiene per sé): «Ok, George. Mi stai prendendo in giro». Ma uno sguardo a Spielberg gli fa presto cambiare idea: il papà di Indiana Jones, infatti, gli sorride un po’ imbarazzato e, mentre l’amico continua il suo sproloquio, fa roteare gli occhi quasi a dirgli: «George è fissato su questo argomento e non la finirà tanto presto, mi dispiace….». Dunque, il creatore di Star Wars ci crede davvero all’imminente apocalisse e cerca di convincere anche il protagonista di «Green Hornet» che il mondo «è prossimo alla fine».
«All’inizio ero convinto che stesse scherzano, ma poi ho capito che era serissimo. Allora ho pensato che se George è realmente convinto di questa cosa, ovvero che il mondo finirà fra un anno, deve avere pronta da qualche parte un’astronave per la fuga, così gli ho chiesto se mi lasciava un posto. Ma lui mi ha assicurato di non aver costruito alcuna astronave… Però non ho dubbi sul fatto che ci sia una Millennium Falcon (è una delle astronavi di Guerre Stellari) in un garage da qualche parte, con un pilota a bordo, pronta per decollare. Ci saranno sopra Lucas e Spielberg e io salterò in aria come tutti gli altri».

Igralec Seth Rogen je ostal presenečen nad nedavnim srečanjem s svojim junakom George Lucas - zato, ker je režiser Star Warsa celih 20 minut pripocvedoval o tem kako bo leta 2012 konec sveta. Rogen je ostal brez besed, ko sta se mu Lucas in Steven Spielberg pridružila na predstavitvi filma - ampak srečanje je zapustil z polno skrbi nad svojim njegovo življenjem saj naj bi se po besedah Lucasa v naslednjem letu končalo.
Se spominja, "George Lucas se je usedel in za približno 25 minut govoril o tem, kako misli, da bo konec leta 2012 sveta konec˝.
"govoril je o premiku tektonskih plošč, in ves čas je Spielberg obračal stran poglet in me gledal kakor bi mi hotel povedat," Moj butasti prijatelj ne bo utihnil, žal mi je ...''
"Najprej sem mislil, da se (Lucas) šali ... in potem sem spoznal, da je popolnoma resen, potem pa sem začel razmišljati, "Če George Lucas da bo konec sveta v enem letu, je sigurno zgradili vesoljsko ladjo za sebe ... Zato sem ga vprašal ... "Ali imam lahko sedež na njej?"
"On je trdil, da nima vesoljsko ladje, vendar ni nobenega dvoma, tam je Millennium Falcon v garaži nekje z pilotom ki samo čakaja, da gre... To bo za njega in Steven Spielberg in jaz bom končal, kot vsi ostali. "
